So I am back at school again, so I suppose its time to let everyone know how I have been. I spent most of Christmas break lounging at home, hanging out with relatives, and spending time with my friends back home. My friend gave me a computer game, Left 4 Dead, for Christmas, and I have spent a lot of time playing that. Its fun shooting zombies for pretend. Now that I am back at school, its the same old drill, except with new classes.
This semester, I am taking Embedded Control, Physics II, Computer Science II, and Intro to Engineering Analysis. I worked out the schedule pretty well, so I do not have any classes before noon. I think it a pretty sweet arrangement. My Embedded Control class is challenging, but interesting. Our final project will consist of creating an autonomous blimp.
I have spent a good bit of effort to try to get a nice internship this summer. I think I now have three good options available to me. I just had an interview today with Lockheed Martin, so I am holding out hope with that one. I also have a contact in Boeing, and they say that they are watching for me, so that is promising. The final option is a research position at a local college, and that would pay quite well. Whatever I do, I think that I will be enjoying my work this summer.
So I think this whole sleeping till noon thing is a pretty good deal for everybody, because, according to my room mates, I a somewhat loud in my usual morning routine. For the past 2 mornings however, I had to wake up at the crack of 9 in order to set up and go to this interview with Lockheed. Once I got back from my interview this morning however, my one room mate had the gall to ask me if I would not wake up so early any more. He said that I am too noisy to be waking up before them. I argued that I had to go to an interview, so I really had no option but to wake up that early. His clever response was, "Well, work around that." I also told him that 9 is not an unreasonable time for me to wake up. He countered that by saying it was for him, because he only had 4 hours of sleep last night, on account of his weekly frat party. I apologized for not accommodating his drinking schedule. I don't think that I am doing anything unreasonable, and I am now tempted to wake him up at 5am everyday for a jogging routine I will take up, just to piss him off.
It will be nice to have a new room mate next year.
